Do not go Gentle into that good night...

In honor of the 2nd Annual (silent) Poetry Reading - here's one of my favorite poems. It always reminds me of the movie Dead Poets Society...one of my favorites.

DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT by Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And as an added bonus - here's a look at my version of Fetching - yes I finally caved and made some fingerless gloves. I love them - they are my driving gloves. My hands don't freeze on the wheel - but I can still grip.

Pattern: Fetching
Yarn: Noro Silk Country in color #5
Needles: US6 DPNs
Alterations: Instead of doing the cable near the knuckles - I changed it to K2P2 ribbing.

Happy Friday everyone!

I myself use the fingerless gloves I made for driving and find them to be perfect for it. Yours are much prettier than mine. I do love that yarn!

Very nice! I really like the yarn you chose. I had never thought about a pair of these for driving. Good idea.
