Thy name is Chevron scarf...
I am completely and totally obsessed with knitting this scarf. I started it on Saturday after seeing Sarah's and I am loving it!!!
I don't know what is so very hypnotizing about it... is it the color? the pattern? Both?
I'm sure most of you have seen the Flickr group of all the gorgeous Chevron Scarfs out there. And I'm sure I'm the last person on earth who hasn't knit this, but let me just warn the other 1% of the knitting population who haven't knit this - it's addictive! It comes with me in the car - to restaurants and to bed!
The yarn is thicker than sock weight - it's a light worsted - so it's knitting up faster than the sock weight would have.
The pattern I'm using is a little different from the rest of the Chevron Scarfers too - I'm doing more of a Jaywalker style scarf.
I'm using 6 balls of Koigu that I got at last year's Sheep and Wool. I was a new knitter at the time and had absolutely no idea what I was going to do with this yarn... but I knew I wanted it. So I grabbed a handful and took them home. They had been waiting for their purpose for quite a while.
I am alternating them two at a time for this scarf. Two rows in one color - then two rows in the other. Here are the colors I'm working from:
I love it!
Speaking of the Jaywalker pattern - here is a Jaywalker sock I completed. It's going to be for my mom. One more to go!
She picked this lovely blue yarn from Zen yarn Garden. It was actually a gift from Jolene - thanks girl!

The scarf is stunning, I haven't made that pattern yet, so I've printed off yours - thanks. Now, to find the perfect yarn...
that is one colorful scarf! love it!
I absolutely love the color of that scarf! Thanks for the pattern. Lovely socks too.
now you know you are THE LAST to knit that scarf. I haven't even started to spin my yarn for it.
As a fellow knitter-in-the-minority (haven't done it yet either), I'm ready. And I love your pattern variation and will do your version!
I'm also Jaywalking too ... one down, one to go.
Love the chevron...LOVE the jaywalker.
As always, its your photos that make the post.
I haven't done a chevron scarf either... I was late on the Clapotis train too. :)
Love the Jaywalker!
Oooh pretty! I like the way that's turning out. Hmm....
I think I am going to have to jump on this bandwagon. Your scarf is gorgeous!
The colors definately bring out the best in that pattern. Love, love, love the scarf!
I just finished a scarf in almost exactly the same pattern today (except out of manos). I love the yarn you picked, and the chevron really shows it off.
That scarf is absolutely beautiful! Now, did I mention my birthday is in August...
I love your scarf! I've been staring at it for the past 2 hours!
Can you tell me what colors of the Koigu you used? I'm completely stupid when it comes to picking colors that correspond well together!
I think I might make this my Alaska Cruise project! FUN!
OMG...... LOVE. THIS. Scarf! Tomorrow morning, I will raid my Koigu stash, set up swift and wind. Will be casted on before breakfast (but not before coffee). TY again!
Barbara @ the Jersey Shore :)
Happy Thanksgiving! xoxo
I saw your scarf on Pinterest and love it. I think I could get obsessed too, but then I saw your sock and . . .WOW. I'm going to look for that pattern. Thanks so much for the scarf pattern!
I love love love this scarf! Everything about it! Where did you find such fun yarn?
That scarf is amazing and you look so fabulous displaying it. I am going to rummage through my variegated yarn and try to start one today.
