I started these socks in June 2007 and just finished them a few days ago. That has got to be some kind of record for longest UFO! I knit the first sock and then put it aside because the way the colors pooled didn't thrill me. But I dug them out again one day when I was looking for a portable project and finally finsihed them off.
Stats:
Pattern: Monkey socks by Cookie A
Needles: Size 2 Addis
Yarn: Socks that Rock medium weight - in Metomorphosis colorway
Mods: I did one less repeat than the pattern called for. I think I would have run out of yarn if I hadn't!
I'm still not 100% happy with the way the colors blended, but I am glad they are finally done!
What do you think? Wearable?

Very cute! I think I may be the last person alive who hasn't made a pair of Monkeys...
Definitely wearable! Love the colors: very bright and happy. They look like happy socks to me.
i think the way the colors swirl is gorgeous.
i bet they grow on you.
I haven't made Monkey's either. I love they way they look knit up though!
Dare I hope this means you might finish the other Red Dwarf sock?
They look great. Monkeys are my favorite pattern!
Vibrant! They look very happy. I'm not a sock knitter, but if I did break down and do one, it would be this pattern -- love it!
I absolutely love them!!! Stacey made me some Monkey Socks....not quite that colorful though! I vote most definitely wearable!
Haha! I remember when you started those! It really *was* a long time ago. They look great. I love that colorway. In fact, I think it was your first Monkey of the pair that inspired me to buy some.
Those are not just socks, they are a work of art.
what?! totally wearable! they're colorful and fun :)
I have monkeys on my knit next list. I hope to get to it sooooon♥ These are gorgeous. Happy socks for sure♥
Wearable for sure!!!! I think I like the top better than the sole of the foot - the pattern breaks up the pooling a bit....
I love them! They'll brighten even a gray day. I am also a member of the "haven't knit monkeys club" but I do plan to try them soon.
LOVE!
Yeah! They are definitely wearable. I have a pair in process from about the same time. You're helping to motivate me to finish them! I love the yarn I'm using and I like the design, I just don't enjoy knitting them...too many purls ;-) Though they are pretty when they're finished.
Definitely keepers! I actually really like the way the colors played out.
great job!
