Summer of Socks!

Well I didn't intend to knit socks all summer but it seems like they are the only thing I can focus on lately! My poor Printed Silk Cardi has been languishing half done
Printed Silk Cardigan

and the Liesl I started ages ago - still looks like this:

Liesl in progress

My Goddess Knints mystery circular shawl? Still only on Clue 3 of 5!

Goddess Knits Anniversary Mystery Shawl

I love them all - but for some reason I just can't seem to concentrate on anything requiring more than minimal thinking!

So - that leaves socks! My version of mindless knitting.

I recently finished some Noro socks. This was the first time I used the new Noro sock yarn. I have to say I love the colors! I wasn't crazy about the texture, and the yarn broke on me a few times, but overall the results are great!

Noro socks

I was anal about making sure the two socks matched!

I also cast on another "mindless knitting" sock - my 4th pair of Jaywalkers! This pattern has become second nature for me - I don't even need to look at the pattern anymore at this point.

Tigerwalkers

This yarn in Liza Souza's that I picked up at Stitches East last year. I just love how it is striping! I'm calling these my Tigerwalkers!

So here's hoping I can focus on something more than socks soon! I signed up for the Ravelympics - so that will definitely challenge me to work on something more complicated.

Hope you're having a great week!

All of your WIP's are so pretty.
I hope your mojo comes back in the fall.

the mojo will come back - I have been languishing also....I want to get some of the Noro Sock yarn when we go to Webs in a few weeks - make some stripy socks...

I'm opposite you on the sock knitting mojo, but I think mine is coming back. Hopefully so because I foolishly signed up for the 52 Pair Plunge and subscribed to a bunch of sock clubs. That aside, the socks I have otn right now are plain stockinette Noro socks in the same colorway you used, and Jaywalkers. GMTA.

wow, you've been doing a lot of knitting! it's all looking so great. i haven't used noro sock yarn either, but i imagine i probably wouldn't like it. i like my sock yarn to be soft and fluffy!

I know what you mean. I'm procrastinating at the computer... and considering revving up the paint palette, taking a nap, or reading a book. Not that there aren't more traditional domestic chores. The tiger socks are awesome.

Love the colour of the noros, and your new sock.

I'm sure your mojo will return after it's finished it's vacation.

Funny how that works - I always lose my sock mojo and they linger on the needles forever. You are working on some great things (I can't wait to see your cardi come together!) and it is always important to remember that it is not a race :) just enjoy!

Wow - I love how your socks came out! I have been wanting to get the Noro sock yarn but I have been holding out due to the mixed reviews. I am not a fan of the jaywalker pattern (probably the only one out there) but after seeing yours, I actually was tempted to queue it up! Great job. :)

You'll get back to your Wip's I usually do :) Love the Noro sock, I have 2 skeins and will probably do the same thing to get them to match! Tigerwalkers, cool name and yarn too!

I'm so jealous of your Goddess Knits shawl...I'm still on clue 1!

It looks wonderful! (As do all you other WIPS!)

I've still not mastered the Jaywalkers but yours look great. Which colour Noro did you use?

Your mojo will be back!

The socks are fabulous! I have purchased several books in an attempt to learn to make them, but I don't understand the patterns. I would purchase that Noro yarn just to sit and look at it all day...

Oh my god, I feel better about my four pairs of Jaywalkers now... I do love that pattern. And I love your Noro socks! I'm too lazy for that level of matching, but it looks fantastic!
