More Smithsonian!

After taking in the Smithsonian Folklife Festival - we walked by the Smithsonian's rose gardens...
Rose Garden

And then stopped in for a stroll through the gorgeous wildflower gardens. Based on the number of pictures that follow I think you can guess my favorite!

Their collection of Passion flowers were amazingly beautiful. I had never seen these in person before! I was love-struck :)

Here we are in the middle of the garden.

After our stroll through the garden - we checked the National Museum of the American Indian. I had never been to this museum and the building itself was definitely the highlight. What an awesome shape!

See, now you understand my passionflower obsession, which has led to me having 14 of them in our apartment. :)

I also love the Smithsonian gardens. Passion flowers are exquisite and your photography does them justice. The best part of the Native American Museum besides the architecture is their restaurant, we always eat there when visiting museums.

Absolutely beautiful !!
I didn't know you could grow passion flowers indoors. I might have to check that out.

Gasp! Holy bejesus is right! Those pictures look like a professional photographer took them with a billion dollar camera! If I buy the same kinda camera, will I be able to take pictures as fabulous???? (make and model please...)

J- those photos are professional quality - lovely work! I love the Smithsonian! When hubby and I were poverty stricken first-time parents living in Alexandria, that was our place to go on a weekend afternoon - picnic on the Mall and stroll the Smithsonian - free:)!
Glad you appreciated it so well - and did I say how really really beautiful the pictures are?
