Summer of Socks!

Well I didn't intend to knit socks all summer but it seems like they are the only thing I can focus on lately! My poor Printed Silk Cardi has been languishing half done

and the Liesl I started ages ago - still looks like this:

My Goddess Knints mystery circular shawl? Still only on Clue 3 of 5!

I love them all - but for some reason I just can't seem to concentrate on anything requiring more than minimal thinking!

So - that leaves socks! My version of mindless knitting.

I recently finished some Noro socks. This was the first time I used the new Noro sock yarn. I have to say I love the colors! I wasn't crazy about the texture, and the yarn broke on me a few times, but overall the results are great!

I was anal about making sure the two socks matched!

I also cast on another "mindless knitting" sock - my 4th pair of Jaywalkers! This pattern has become second nature for me - I don't even need to look at the pattern anymore at this point.

Tigerwalkers

This yarn in Liza Souza's that I picked up at Stitches East last year. I just love how it is striping! I'm calling these my Tigerwalkers!

So here's hoping I can focus on something more than socks soon! I signed up for the Ravelympics - so that will definitely challenge me to work on something more complicated.

Hope you're having a great week!

Odds and Ends

I've had a severe case of knitting ADD lately. I'm working on so many things at once!

- Ariann - I finished it!! I still need to take photos - will the sun ever shine again!?
Here it is almost done...

- Top Down ragaln - that I started a year and half ago and has been hibernating for a loooong time! I finally picked it up again a few days ago and finished the body - now it's on to the sleeves!!

Here's a picture from the last time I worked on it... I'm done with the body now.

- Swatching for a new sweater

-Morning Surf Scarf - I cast on for this in a moment of uncontrollable desire. I was surfing around Ravelry and saw this scarf (sorry non ravelers!) and had to have it.

I cast on with some Koigu...

And finally - these awesome mittens!

Kiss That Frog Mitts

They were designed by Beth from bethtoons.

Go check out her finished version. When you put your mitts together the palms make a frog! So cute!

Hopefully I'll get these UFOs finished up before March because I have plans! Michelle from the Sweet Sheep is doing her March Sweater Madness again this year.

I don't think I'll ever be able to knit a sweater in a month - but I can dream! I hope I like the pattern!

Go sign up and join the madness!

My knittin love is fickle...

I have been way too unfocused lately to finishe anything - but that doesn't mean I haven't had time to start anything new - no-siree-bob.

I have been a kniting fool lately - with all kinds of things on the needles at once. And I am working on all of them I swear! But I can't seem to focus on any one thing lately!

Here's what I should be working on:

My Central Park Hoodie is slowly coming together. The back, the left front panel and half of the right front panel are done. But I seem to have stalled out.... I need to get going before it gets too warm to wear it!

In the last month or so - I have also been working on a top down raglan sweater (in blues for Project Spectrum) some Anemoi mittens (also in Blue!) two different pairs of socks, the Tuscany Shawl:

(which I am going to rip - because I don't like the way it's coming out...)

and way too many sewing projects!
I made these up last weekend...

Not to mention that I keep seeing new things I want to make - practically daily. I just bought Simply Knitting magazine:

It came with a prize too - a magnetic needle case with needles and pins included. I love british mags for including these little things - it's like the toy suprise in cereal - except for grown ups!! But anyway - inside it has patterns for the cutest little barn yard animals!

I need to make them! I showed it to my gals at knit nite and Coleen needed to make them too - go look at her cute cow!

Isn't it adorable!
